CompareShootProof alternative

A ShootProof alternative with more room on the smaller plans.

ShootProof is a solid, long-running business: white-label galleries even on the free plan, commission-free sales on every tier, contracts and invoicing in every paid plan. What sends photographers looking elsewhere is usually the size of the smaller plans — and the fact that a film shares the same space as the photographs.

Why photographers switch to Galerist

150 GB on the entry plan, not 20

Basic holds 150 GB of photographs — about 15,000 at full resolution — for €11.99 a month billed annually. Video does not eat into it: it is counted separately, in minutes.

No separate archive fee

Galleries live inside the storage you already pay for, and on a subscription you renew them as often as you like — there is no second monthly line for archiving. A gallery you stop renewing is deleted 30 days after it expires, so keep your own masters.

One gallery for €9.99

Streaming up to true 4K on every paid tier, as on theirs. The difference is that you can deliver a single gallery for €9.99 without subscribing at all.

Where ShootProof stops fitting

01

Photos and film share one allowance

Starter and Standard list 20 GB and 100 GB of “photo + video”. A twenty-minute 4K film is several gigabytes, and it comes out of the same space as the photographs. Only Professional and Premium give video its own allowance: 50 GB and 150 GB.

02

The photo estimate assumes 3 MB files

The plan table estimates 6,600+ photos on Starter and 33,000+ on Standard, “based on an average file size of 3 MB”. Full-resolution files from a current camera are often several times that, so the number you actually fit is lower.

03

Keeping older work costs extra

The table lists “Securely store extra photos: Archive starting at $2.99/mo” on every plan except Premium, where the photo archive is included and the video archive still starts at $2.99 a month. Not a large sum — but a second monthly line for not deleting last year’s work.

04

The add-ons are where the price settles

Online client booking is listed at $4.99 a month on top. Invoicing, e-sign contracts and multiple brands are not on the free plan. None of this is hidden — it is all printed — but the first number is not always the one you end up paying.

Who should stay on ShootProof

ShootProof does several things better than we do and it is worth saying plainly. Their galleries are white-label from the free plan up, while Galerist carries a small “made with Galerist” line up to Plus and lets you switch it off only on Pro and Studio. Their sales side, lab prints included, is commission-free on every tier. Invoicing and e-sign contracts come with every paid plan, and Premium stores unlimited photos where our top plan stops at 2 TB. If you sell prints, send contracts and invoice from the same place, staying put is a reasonable decision. Galerist is the better fit when the smaller plans run out of room, or when you want to deliver one gallery without a subscription.

Frequently asked

Does Galerist limit how many photos I can upload?

Not by count. The limit is storage: 8 GB on the €9.99 one-time gallery (up to 500 photos in that specific product), then 150 GB, 400 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB on the subscriptions. The number of galleries is never limited on any plan.

Does video use my storage?

No. Video is counted in minutes — thirty on the €9.99 gallery, from two hours on Basic to thirty hours on Studio — and never takes space from your photographs.

Do I pay extra to keep old galleries?

No. Older galleries count against the same storage figure you already pay for; there is no separate archive fee. Published galleries go offline after their window unless renewed, but the files are not held hostage behind a second subscription.

Does Galerist white-label galleries completely?

Not completely, and we would rather say so. Your logo and palette are yours on every plan, your own subdomain from Plus up, and a discreet “made with Galerist” line sits in the footer — on Pro and Studio you can switch it off. If a totally unbranded page is a requirement on a smaller plan, ShootProof does that on all their plans.

Can I send contracts and invoices from Galerist?

No. There is no CRM, no contracts and no invoicing — the product is delivery. If you want those in one subscription, ShootProof genuinely covers more ground than we do.
