AI face search · for events

Two thousand photos, and every guest finds their own.

At a wedding, a conference, a school event or a company party, nobody scrolls the whole gallery: they look for themselves. Turn on face search and a selfie, or a tap on a face, narrows the gallery to the photos that person is in. You decide gallery by gallery, and the selfie is never stored.

01 · For the guest

A selfie, or a tap on a face.

«People» shows the faces found in the gallery: the guest picks one or more and the gallery filters to them. «Find your photos» works with a selfie instead. Before it runs, the guest ticks a box that reads, word for word: «I consent to using my face to find my photos in this gallery. The selfie is not stored.» Then they can share a link to just their photos, valid for 30 days.

02 · For you

Off until you switch it on.

Face search is off on every new gallery. You turn it on for the galleries where it makes sense, and doing so records that you have the right to: usually the consent of the people you photographed. The analysis starts when you publish, not while you upload, and the gallery goes live once it is done; a counter shows how many photos have been analysed. There is no cap on the number of photos, and «Re-analyze faces» runs it again for the whole gallery.

Precisely what is kept, and where.

The guest’s selfie is used for one search and discarded. The faces found in your photos are kept as numeric vectors, not images, for as long as the gallery exists; they are deleted with the photo or the gallery, and after an expiry at the end of the recovery window. The analysis runs on our own service in the USA, with an open-source model and no third-party face API; the vectors are stored in our database in the EU. Nothing estimates age, gender or mood.

FAQ

Face search, answered.

Do guests need an app or an account?
No. They open the gallery link, tap «Find your photos», take a selfie or upload one, and the gallery narrows to their photos. Or they open «People» and tap a face.
Is the selfie stored?
No. It is used in memory for that one search and then discarded; it is never written to storage. What is kept is the face data found in the gallery’s own photos, for as long as the gallery exists.
Do I need the guests’ consent?
Face data is a special category under the GDPR. For your galleries you are the data controller and need a legal basis, usually the explicit consent of the people you photograph. Turning face search on for a gallery records that you confirm it. Guests who search with a selfie tick their own consent box first.
How accurate is it?
It works best when the face is clearly visible. Photos where someone is turned away, in profile or partly hidden may not appear, and the gallery tells guests so. If you add or replace photos, the gallery is analysed again when you update it.
Does it work on video?
No. Only photos are analysed. In a gallery with photos and video, face search covers the photos; the three film-first styles don’t show it.
Which plans include it?
Plus, Pro and Studio, and the €9.99 single gallery. It is not on Basic.
