CompareZenfolio alternative

A Zenfolio alternative for photographers who deliver film too.

Zenfolio has been around long enough to have earned its place, and it bundles a website, a domain and a logo into every plan — which is more than we do. If you are comparing, the reason is usually video: what you can deliver, at what resolution, and on which plan.

Why photographers switch to Galerist

4K on every paid tier

If you shoot 4K you deliver 4K — including inside the €9.99 one-time gallery, with 120 minutes of video and the original file still downloadable by your client.

No promo price to renew at

No promotional rate with a bigger number printed beside it. €9.99 per gallery, or €11.99–64.99 a month billed annually, and that is what it stays.

Nothing essential sold separately

Proofing, client selections, AI face search and 4K video are part of the gallery, not add-ons stacked on top of a plan.

Where Zenfolio stops fitting

01

HD until the top plan

Their EU plan table lists supported video formats as HD on Basic and HD on Professional, with 4K arriving only on Advanced. If you shoot 4K and deliver 4K, the plan is chosen for you — and it is the most expensive one.

02

The price you see is the promotional one

Their own page prints the full rate next to the offer: Basic €6 a month “normally €9”, Professional €10 “normally €20”, Advanced €18 “normally €36”. Comparing against the promotional column flatters everybody, so compare against both — the second number is the one you renew at.

03

Booking is a separate line

Booking and scheduling is listed at €10 a month on Basic and Professional and included only on Advanced. On the entry plan that is more than doubling the bill for a calendar.

04

Unlimited, again without a number

The Advanced plan lists “Unlimited JPEG + 150 GB video”. Unlimited JPEGs is a generous offer and it may be exactly what an archivist wants. It is still a promise you cannot check, where a figure in gigabytes is one you can.

Who should stay on Zenfolio

If you want your portfolio website, your domain and your client galleries from one supplier on one bill, Zenfolio includes all of it on every plan and Galerist includes none of it — we do galleries, and you keep your website wherever it already is. Their archive of long-running features and their print side are real. Where we are the better answer is video: 4K on the entry tier rather than the top one, and a per-gallery price for a season when you deliver three jobs rather than thirty.

Frequently asked

Does Galerist give me a website?

No. You get galleries at a subdomain carrying your studio name, with your logo and colours, and that is the whole scope. If you need a portfolio site too, Zenfolio bundles one and we do not.

Is 4K really included on the cheapest Galerist option?

Yes. The €9.99 one-time gallery includes 120 minutes of video streamed adaptively up to true 4K, and the original file stays downloadable by your client. There is no separate video plan and no resolution tier.

Will Galerist archive my old galleries automatically?

No. Galleries have a published window — 30 days on the one-time gallery, renewable — and there is a grace period afterwards. Nothing is archived silently in the background because it has not been touched for a while.

Are those Zenfolio prices the real ones?

They are the promotional rates printed on their EU pricing page, with the full rate stated next to each one: €9, €20 and €36 a month. We quote both because renewing at the second number is the normal outcome.
